Firearms and two stolen motorbikes have been seized by police and two men charged over an alleged string of armed robberies on brothels and hotels across Sydney.
Police on Thursday raided four homes, two at Regents Park and others in Auburn and Bardwell Valley, as part of investigations into the alleged armed robberies of 11 brothels, two hotels and a cinema in Sydney’s inner west and southwest during the past months.
“Inquiries led detectives to believe the armed robberies were linked and that they were related to a number of carjackings and car thefts across the region,” police said in a statement.
Two guns and two stolen motorbikes were seized during the searches.
Three men, 28, 26 and 22, were arrested and taken for questioning.
Police later charged the 26 and 22-year-old with multiple armed robbery and firearms offences.
Both were refused bail and are due before Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
Police say “the 28-year-old has been released pending further inquiries.”
